Following Sources are used as indicators of needs.
1) Written and verbal feed back of supervisory officers
2) Suggestions by field officers
3) Analysis of frequently omitted errors
4) Accident /Incident data compiled by Road Safety Wing
5) Introduction of new equipment
6) Development / Change in standard operating procedures
7) Complaints
8) Feedback by passed out trainees.
Information collected from above mentioned sources is scrutinized and arranged in different Brain Storming sessions of faculty members in order to continuously revise and update the training needs of each course. Targeted tasks which need improvement are weighed on the basis of their frequency and importance. Through this process new and revised curricula are developed to impart proper knowledge, skills and abilities.
DEVELOPMENT OF PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
To develop curricula, at first performance objectives are established which serve as a roadmap for determining the future raining needs.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
Once the performance objectives are identified and validated through review process, curricula are developed to meet those objectives. Performance objectives are clustered according to the training areas i.e. law & legal, NH&MP practical work, investigation etc. Specific training programs are developed, keeping in view the importance of each area.

These training materials are printed together in the form of a book namely “Basic NH&MP Course”.
NH&MP Training College has further developed the “Manual Of Motor Vehicle Accidents” in which scientific ways to investigate motor vehicle collisions are described.
EVALUATION OF TRAINING
TDU conducts evaluation of each course to identify necessary changes and further improvements needed in different courses. Testing is mandatory to assure that each performance objective is achieved.
REVISION OF TRAINING PROGRAM
Based on evaluation necessary revisions are made for different training segments. This process helps in producing refined training products.
